Takai’s campaign continues to pick up momentum in final day before voting
HONOLULU (November 3, 2014) – Today a call featuring President Barack Obama went out to the people of Hawaii. In the message, the President asks for voters to support Rep. Mark Takai in his bid for Congress.
“I am asking you to support Mark Takai and the democratic ticket this November fourth. I am counting on good voters like you to make your voice heard again this year. In an election this close we can’t afford to give Republicans an advantage just because a handful of folks didn’t vote,” President Obama states in the message.
“I am truly honored and humbled to have the support of President Obama during my run for Congress. Having the first President from Hawaii support our campaign means so much to me,” Takai said.
“Your vote for Mark Takai will make a real difference in helping us create jobs, guarantee equal pay for women, and make college more affordable. I hope you make a plan to go vote and make your voice heard,” President Obama concluded.
“These are the issues I want to go to Washington D.C. and work with the President on addressing. These are the issues important for Hawaii’s working families, the President and I recognize this fact and want to bring real results back to our community. I thank the President for his support and I want to ask the voters to please go to the polls tomorrow, this race is extremely close and we need everyone turning out to vote,” Takai said.
“We are the campaign fighting for the core democratic values of our State. This message of support from President Obama, coupled with the recent endorsement from the Honolulu Star–Advertiser really highlight the fact that we are the campaign with the forward momentum going into these final days. I want to thank all of my supporters and volunteers for all their help and hard work. Let’s finish strong Team Takai,” Takai concluded.
